Sikh History and Philosophy

At the Shan E Khalsa Gurmat Academy, we stress the importance of teaching our students about the remarkable lives of their Gurus and learning about crucial events that took place in our history while relating them to shabads, or hymns, included in Gurbani. We are very fortunate to have many well-educated, English-speaking teachers who spend week after week preparing and planning memorable lessons for the students. Due to the language barrier, many Canadian youth have difficulty learning about Sikhi.The Academy teachers overcome this language obstacle and makes available, in English, the inspirational and amazing teachings of Sikhi along with Gurbani translations. In addition, the use of quality power point presentations along with other audio/visual aids, students benefit from stimulating and interactive lessons.
